General Dentistry

Brushing and flossing are a great way to maintain the health of your smile, but without regular visits to our Belleville office for checkups, your dental health will decline over time. Dentists are able to reach the areas of your teeth that your toothbrush and floss simply can’t. Dr. Banderet will also be able to remove plaque that may develop, which is impossible to remove without special equipment. Finally, she’ll examine the overall health of your teeth and determine what steps are needed next ensure your teeth stay strong and healthy.

Scaling and Root Planing

Root planing and scaling is one of the most effective ways to treat gum disease before it becomes severe. Root planing and scaling cleans between the gums and the teeth down to the roots. Dental hygienists will use an ultrasonic tool for this procedure. Root planing and scaling is done when gums have either started to pull away from the teeth or the roots of the teeth have hard mineral deposits tartar on them.

Periodontics

Unfortunately, periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile-it can cause loss of teeth and eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems. Called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack you mouth’s soft tissues. Early warning signs of the disease include red swollen, bleeding gums. If caught early, we can help you reverse the damage.

Our practice specializes in a wide array of cosmetic dentistry procedures, including bonding, crowns, and veneers, and we aim to give you the dazzling results you want and deserve. We are devoted to giving you the exact look you desire, whether that requires delicate enhancement or more complex procedures.

Invisalign

This revolutionary treatment allows patients to align their teeth without the use of braces! This is especially valuable for our adult patients who might not want to get braces, yet still want a straight smile.

Root Canal Therapy

Each of our teeth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp-which provides the tooth with nutrients and nerves-that extends down thru the tooth’s root. If the pulp becomes infected or injured, the tooth’s nerves die and often, without endodontic treatment, the tooth is lost. Root canals are designed to save such damaged teeth. During the procedure (performed under anesthesia), a gap is drilled into the tooth’s crown and pulp chamber, diseased pulp is reshaped or removed, and the tooth is permanently sealed to prevent bacterial contamination. At a future appointment a crown is placed to strengthen the tooth.

Full Dentures

Dentures are an excellent option for people who have lost all their teeth. Precisely designed and molded to fit one’s mouth, full dentures slide over the gums and are held in place with strong cheek and mouth muscles.

Removable Partial Dentures

Removable partial dentures fill gaps left by missing teeth. Partial dentures are held in place with metal clasp or precision devices (discreet clasps) that are attached to natural teeth. Usually made of resin or metal, partial dentures allow more comfortable and effective chewing, improve speech, and prevent sagging of cheeks and lips.

Fixed Partial Dentures/Bridges

Many times missing teeth can be replaced with something strong, comfortable, and virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Bridges are basically crowns on both sides of a missing tooth. A false tooth called a pontic attaches to the crowns on both sides of the space and is made as one unit. The bridge is then cemented and stays in place permanently. The result looks and functions like your natural teeth.

Implants

Dental implants attach artificial teeth below the gum line using an anchor post. The implant is place in the bone and over time the bone grows to the implant. A healing collar is also place allowing the tissues to have the correct contour in preparation for the final restoration-which may be a crown, bridge or denture. Because dental implants require surgery, they are intended only for candidates with sufficient bone and healthy gums.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder known as TMJ

Problems involving the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint) located just in front of the ear are commonly referred to as TMJ. Patients suffering with TMJ problems may experience headaches, pain in the jaw joints or surrounding muscles, a jaw that locks open or closed, a bite that changes uncomfortably, or difficulty chewing, speaking, swallowing or eating. If you are suffering from TMJ, contact our office for a consultation.

Laser Therapy

Today in dentistry lasers have many uses, from removing tissue, to preparing teeth for restorations. They can be used for treatment of periodontal disease and even treat canker sores (herpes lesions). With the use of lasers there is little to no bleeding during the procedure and recovery is usually quicker and less painful. When treating herpes, the lesion is immediately pain free.

Dental technology has improved the way dentists practice their craft. Our practice offers digital X-rays which emit low amounts of radiation and every precaution is taken to protect patients from exposure.

No need for paper charts, our modern software is designed for a digital patient record. It allows us to track information such as appointments, patient records, billing and insurance. This program has capabilities to organize information to improve workflow and helps us educate the patient.

Insurance Coverage

At the time of your appointment Kelley will file all insurance claims. This will allow her to explain what type of coverage your insurance will provide for your dental procedures.

Insurance

Our practice is committed to providing the best treatment for our patients. Our fees fall into the usual and customary range for our area.

Payment is due in full at time of service. However, we may accept assignment of insurance benefits. If insurance assignment is accepted we will require your co-pay to be paid at the time of service. We ask that you provide us with complete and accurate insurance information. Failure to provide us with accurate information may delay us in filing a claim and the entire balance will become immediately due. Your insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. If your insurance company does not pay your account in full within 45 days the balance will be automatically transferred to your account. The balance is your responsibility whether your insurance company pays or not. All accounts over 60 days are subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge.

Thank you for understanding our financial policy. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Patient Consultation

Patient consultations should be structured as deliberate conversations between the dental professional(s) and patient, which addresses the patient’s dental condition, relevant medical condition(s), obstacles to treatment, treatment options, risks, and relevant details including time and cost. It should be recognized that it is almost impossible to provide the patient with an exhaustive understanding of all treatment options and details. The dentist needs to identify, educate, inform, and advise the patient about all relevant information in layman’s terms. It is important to us you feel comfortable about any discussion you make. We encourage you to bring family members and ask questions.

Payment Plans

We accept several forms of payment so that our patients can enjoy stress-free dental visits. We understand that sometimes cost can hold you back from getting the dental treatment you need, which is why we work hard to ensure everyone can afford the treatments we recommend.

We accept many forms of payment and can discuss financing and other options if you need some time to pay for treatment.

New Patient Interview

As a new patient we will discuss your concerns followed by a discussion of dental health education and our approach for treatment. Dr. Banderet try’s to focus on prevention. She believes it is important that you understand dental disease so you can become as healthy as you choose.
